Treasury Bills (T-Bills)

Short-term obligations of the U.S. government. They have 4-week, 13-week, 26-week, and 52-week maturities. They are purchased at a discount and mature at face value. The difference between the purchase price and maturity value (the amount of the discount) is considered interest.
